So it was just a matter of time until Rainbow Magic broke out with The Princess Fairies.

And now is the time. We have Hope the Happiness Fairy (woted Most Obvious), Cassidy the Costume Fairy (voted Most Likely to Be Entertaining), Anya the Cuddly Creatures Fairy (voted Most Likely to Wedge in as Many Hooks as Possible), Elisa the Royal Adventure Fairy (my life is kind of a Royal Adventure), Lizzie the Sweet Treats Fairy (voted Most Likely to Turn Out to Be a Stripper), Maddie the Fun and Games Fairy (voted Most Likely to Poke You in the Eye with a Stick), and Eva the Enchanted Ball Fairy (voted Most Likely to Be Shunned by the Other Princess Fairies).
You know I am buying copies of all of these for the Children’s Room. With resentment in my heart, but still. The children will be glad I did.
Incidentally, Scooby-Doo comes back into vogue every seven years or so like a plague of locusts, and guess what? I think it’s been seven years. Those of you who are children’s librarians, consider yourself warned.

Again, I just laughed loudly enough to cause the dog upstairs to howl nervously. (Poor dog. He will be so glad when I am gone.)
The Royal Adventure Fairy??? The FUN AND GAMES Fairy??? The enchanted ball fairy?? Really??? It’s just sort of gobsmackingly bad.
I was going to make a crack about how next there would be a Unicorn Fairy, except, of course, there already is one.
These Rainbow Fairies seem endless.
Is there a parody series yet? This seems ripe for a parody series. Or celebrity tie-ins. Snooki the Drunk Orange Fairy would be sooooo popular with the under 10 set.
I read one of those books once, and it was THE WORST
I like the way you think, Chad.
Amy, The one I read made me laugh so hard, but only because it was that bad.
Oh no! It’s Only a Matter of Time before the Girl discovers these. At this point, she only buys the RM books at Value Village for 99 cents apiece, because my policy now is, “I will not buy you a book unless I think it’ll take you more than one hour to read it.” I am amused that she doesn’t want to use her own money to buy a new book that is done in 20 minutes.
The Girl is nobody’s fool, and I like your rule about what books you’ll buy.
