And also super-emotional. I love so much about WPL, and I’ll miss it. Also, so many people went out of their way to make my last day special, and I am filled with gratitude for that.
Stories in the Park was really fun. I did a lot of my favorites, including “Sticky, Sticky Bubblegum.” Here I am sticking the gum in my hair (Maxwell is the child looking directly into the camera):
A lot of patrons who haven’t been to storytime in a while came especially to say goodbye to me, and Amy and a couple other folks brought snacks for everyone. Pat even came with her daughters, which was such a treat. Missy from the D&C came, too. She took this photo that I just love:
She said she’s going to be doing a writeup with more pictures soon, so I’m looking forward to that.
After storytime, my coworkers had a lunch for me with pizza and salad and ice cream cake. I love this picture Laureen took:
It captures a lot of what any lunch is like with us: me focused on my cake (note I’m the only one even eating cake), Jason telling some story, Greg on his phone, and Olivia with her lunchbox. And, as a bonus, Sabrina was there, too. (So were a lot of other people who I note managed to evade Laureen’s camera.)
I got such a lot of lovely cards and gifts, and people were all day telling me they’d miss me and wishing me luck. I’m a little overwhelmed by it all, in a good way.
