“Once I got into #2 wooden pencils again, it really made me kind of despise mechanical pencils and the people who use mechanical pencils and the people who brag about how their mechanical pencil never needs sharpening. I mean, fuck you.”
-David Rees in “The Finer Points of David Rees”
Every day, I go around HPL and make sure all the pencils are sharp. There is something basic and wonderful about a sharp pencil; dull ones are just depressing. This David Rees is onto something.
Thanks to Greg for sending me the link.

HA.
I know, right? He wrote a book, too, that I’m probably going to have to check out.
Mo Rocca did a report on this guy on the 11/25/12 CBS Sunday Morning. I want Mo Rocca’s job!
Maybe that’s something you can pursue in your soon-to-be retirement!
I hate how mechanical pencils are so squeaky! whenever I`m in class and I can hear someone across the room writing with one I really want to tell them to shut up, but, really that would just make me look insane … oh wait … I am.
You are a bit crazy, but it’s only right to dislike mechanical pencils. We have to try to be tolerant of mechanical pencil users, though, even though obviously they’re completely wrong. They just don’t know.
