I’ve had a super-busy couple weeks, so I decided I should have a weekend without plans to do whatever I want and catch up on some things. Particularly, I need to get together the paperwork for my tax appointment this week, and I also have to get together the paperwork for an appointment I have with a lawyer in a couple weeks to take care of my will and a health care proxy and all the other adult legal stuff I have been meaning to get to for the last two decades. You would think that watching someone die in my house would have made me take care of the legalities sooner, but no. This is more a continuation of the life crisis that made me get a new job and move into an apartment.
Anyway, after a morning of doing this and that, I sat down around 1:00 to start gathering together all these papers, but what I wound up doing was systematically discovering that my computer will not open whatever site or document I need, because, as far as I can tell, all financial web sites are created by someone who hates humanity. I also managed to get my account locked on a couple web sites for the same reason.
Which means I’m going to have to make a bunch of phone calls on Monday.
On the bright side, I have screwed up this whole business enough that I now feel guiltless about how I’m going to spend the rest of the day baking and reading and maybe running out later to do something, if I feel like getting out of my pajamas.
My pajamas are super-comfortable, though, and I have liquor in the house.
Maybe I’ll just watch a movie at home.

Pajamas are awesome.
Hope everything gets sorted out!
Sounds like my kind of night!
In my younger days,I really kept good records. Now I can’t stand paperwork like that.I was getting mine together the other day and yelled at poor Elizabeth for disturbing me.I apologized and cautioned her about my psychotic state when I am doing paperworkYour approach seems a little more relaxed:)I’m happy for Kit&Kat:)I hope it all goes well as you collect the rest of your papers, not to mention the taxes themselves!.
“…all financial web sites are created by someone who hates humanity.”
Tech Boy agrees; this is his yearly surmise regarding tax websites.
Little Willow, That they are!
Amy, Another item to add to my list of reasons I like you.
Momster, So you’re saying this paperwork thing is genetic?
Tanita, I don’t particularly mind paying my taxes. It’s the horrible process of filing that gets to me.
No.I’m just saying I’m glad you didn’t yell at Kit&Kat the way I yelled at Elizabeth when she started me;)
