But that would be ignoring the fact that when the sun moved, I got up and moved to the other chair. Also, I did go for a run this morning. I didn’t start running thinking that I would be setting any land speed records (if I wanted to do that, I would have taken up a hobby that involves a vehicle), but all my runner friends’ excellent discipline often reminds me that I am not an athlete. Instead of paying attention to what I eat, say, or even tracking how far I run, I use running like an eraser. If I go out for a run, I let myself do whatever I want the rest of the day, which sometimes turns into a total slackfest.
But, you know, part of the reason I changed my entire life was so that sometimes I could have a slackfest.
It’s all George R.R. Martin’s fault for writing these accursed Game of Thrones books, which I cannot stop reading even though they make me swear a lot. I’m reading A Storm of Swords right now. I have about 800 pages left, which I’m hoping I can finish before I go to work tomorrow, because I really don’t know how I can be expected to concentrate on anything else until I know what happens to the bastard Jon Snow, Arya, and Sansa. And Tyrion, I guess, although he’s getting on my nerves with how bitter he is about someone trying to murder him. I just feel like it’s time to shake it off and move on.
Anyway, as you can see, I did finally rouse myself from my chair, but it was only because I got hungry and decided to bake white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. While I was at it, I made pasta and sauce, which I could say was so there’d be a little additional nutritional value in my life but was really because I burned something in one of my frying pans the other day. When you burn something in your frying pan, you have two choices to clean it: 1. spend a ridiculous amount of time scrubbing it, or 2. use it to make some tomato sauce, which will completely take care of the problem while also making a meal.
Then you can get back to reading.
