REAL Suggestions from the Children's Room
"Get more big kid movies."

Once, a grown-up came to the children's desk and complained about the height of our desk. "Doesn't it bother you that people have to bend down to talk to you?"
"The desk is designed to be accessible to children, since this is the children's room," I said.
"Oh," he said. "Well, they don't really count, do they?"

A big OH MY to the guy who thinks that children don't count. We've done a lot to try to make our idea box appealing to kids so I hear from them. I'm glad to hear from parents, too, but their suggestions don't recharge me that way kids' do.
I thought the pool idea might get some comments. From the handwriting, this seems to be an older kid, one who is old enough that I'm not sure if she was kidding or what. I'm also not sure how I'll respond. (I always make sure one of us writes back to the kids who submit comments -- so long as I can figure out where to send them. Sometimes they neglect to put their address or full name on the form.) I have a week off work to think about it....

I just wouldn't come to work at all if they had a pool here. It's bad enough seeing the residents on a regular basis *fully clothed*. I can't even begin to imagine one or two of them in a speedo.
Oh, and there isn't enough chlorine in the *world* for the germ soup we'd have.
