What a Difference an "And" Makes
So the day started at 4:00am when Benny batted my nose to remind me that it was time to eat.
Then again at 5:00am when Ella puked breakfast up on my bed.
Then again around 7:00am when Lucas got to my house. (Tammy had a latte for me, or else I probably wouldn't have gotten up.)
Then I got to work and found this on the shelf where the new children's books wait to be processed (much to my coworkers' amusement):
I think maybe I meant to order this*:
Is it time to go home yet?
*And, okay, so I KNOW I meant to order this. I freaking love Mary Downing Hahn. Wait Till Helen Comes is my absolute favorite scary book for kids, and I always look forward to Hahn's new books. Still, maybe Jason made the mistake....

That's brilliant. It's a lot more interesting than the time I ordered the wrong item from Staples. I entered the product code for a sheet of clear labels and got plastic floor covering instead (the manufacturers' code for the floor covering was the same as the Staples code for the labels).

Don't you just hate hearing that very distinctive sound coming from your cat the first thing of the morning? Actually, anytime of the morning, afternoon or evening. Hannah has gotten very good at selective hearing. And didn't cover #1 make it a little bit better coming back from vacation?

Ok, the cover of the scary book is scary enough to make me not want to read it. "Children's" book or not! That book would live in a drawer so I don't have to look at it and only come out on sunny days so I'm not freaked out.

Wait Till Helen Comes is one of the scariest books I've read ever, and I've read a lot of scary books.

Darn! I thought that was one of the scary books that I had to read for my scary books committee, but I don't see it here, so I guess someone else got it. If not, I'll make sure that its added to the to read pile... of course it sounds like I should add it anyway.
You should try reading H.P. Lovecraft. Scary. Creepy. Weird. All of the above and more. People try and make movies out of his stories, but most are so scary and so strange that they never come out right.
BTW, right now our cat Weenie is getting hair all over the Stephen King book that Jeff is reading. Cats are so special. I think she may be trying to steal his breath, because she's so close to his face.
Now to reread Wolves in the Walls!

Um. Can I borrow the first book?
Just for research purposes of course.

I guess I'll know what you're doing if your office door is closed and the lights dimmed... I promise not to bother you in your research. :o

BTW I think they should call the first one "Deep Dark & Delicious. Then there'd be no problem at all, except maybe a couple heart palpitations.

I think you should write to Mary Downing Hahn about this. I'm still laughing out loud. (And I mean it-- no "LOL"-ing for me.)
