REAL Suggestions from the Children’s Room

I definitely think more bridges are a key improvement to be made.

If you build more bridges into the children's room, no one will drown in the carpet river, like Stacy and Colleen and I repeatedly did when we first started working in the new building :-)

That river is something of a danger. I've heard of both sharks *and* crocodiles roaming it.
Of course, I've been thinking about closing down the bridge for construction while simultaneously repaving the stone path to teach the children what commuting is like.

Seriously? Butterflies? How eerily prophetic...

I wonder what names of children should be on the chairs. Beezus and Ramona? Julian and Huey? Ruby Lu and Oscar?

I seriously wish I were there to help you make some of these suggestions into realities. I would take even the silly things and make them literal or tangible in some way, because that's how I am - for example, with the butterflies, you could show them the optical illusion trick with a two-sided image - one side with a butterfly, the other with a cage - put it on a string, then spin it faster and faster until it appears as though the butterflies are inside of the cage!
And the bridge - a foot-bridge of sorts with big blocks, pieces, and pillows, big enough for a little one to safely sit/lie down and read underneath it.
But I wouldn't make a ride. ;)

Jason, I KNOW. I don't have a legible address for that one, so I can't write back, but I hope she'll come in this summer and see the butterflies while they're there. She'll be thrilled! (Background for everyone else, we are, in fact, going to have chrysalises and butterflies at the Gazebo all summer.)
Isn't it weird how she wants to put the butterflies in a "cage," though. It has a bit of an ominous ring.
Alkelda, My question exactly.
Little Willow, I love it! I wish I had you around to help me figure out how to respond to some of these when I get stuck. I want kids to know that I take them seriously, even if I can't do exactly what they had in mind, and sometimes it's hard to know what to say.
