Fourth Grade

Lucas: WHY does EVERYONE want to take a picture of me with the sunflowers?

Me: It’s what they teach us to do at grown-up school.

Lucas’s new classroom is way at the end of the big-kid hall. For some reason, I didn’t think they moved into the big-kid hall until fifth grade, which is silly as the school only goes up to fifth grade, but that doesn’t really make me feel any better about this big-kid hall business.

*sniff*

It is so sad to see the youthful enthusiasm slipping away like that. I should scan the Kindergarten picture so you can add it.

Gah! He's growing up so fast!

Because of the perspective in the photos, it actually looks like he's been shrinking. Though, I do see the enthusiasm wane each year. Not like Gabe Perez at all, nope not like Gabe.

Sorry, off-topic, I know, but DANG those sunflowers ARE tall.

What's the over/under for when he wears pants the first day of school instead of shorts, anyway?

I call 6th grade.

Sabrina, I know, and I think it will be later. Maybe never. That child loves shorts.

Tonderdo, I don't know. He seemed pretty enthusiastic about lunch and his locker combination.

Chuck, Dude, who is that guy?

Jules, I can't walk down the sidewalk there anymore because those sunflowers are kind of intimidating. The seed package *said* they'd get that big, but I did not believe they would truly get that big.

I say he should switch to kilts when they start banning shorts. :) Whaddya think, Lucas 'rents? And a matching one for daddy and lil bro!

I hope Tammy reads this because we have GOT to figure out how to make that happen.

Chuck, Question. Did you know about Utilikilts *before* this discussion came up or did you go out and find out about Utilikilts after the discussion came up? I often wonder about this sort of thing with you. You'd make a good librarian, you know.

Thanks. I knew about them before, I think I saw a program once.

Posted by: chuck at September 6, 2008 11:27 PM

Well, that is the sort of thing one wouldn't forget.
