1. How?! How did I not know that Sarah Vowell has a new book?

2. Why?! Why does my library system only have one copy?

(Thanks for the tip! Luckily, I'm only #8 on the list.)

I, too, wonder how this is the first I'm hearing of a new Sarah Vowell book.

Laura and Chuck, It may be because you don't obsessively check amazon.com to see if she'll be publishing a book anytime soon. Don't worry, though, I can pick up that slack. ;)

I've got the book from the library now! I can't read it without hearing her voice, which is so different from the first book I read by her, Take the Cannoli. It makes me think that perhaps I should give audiobooks another try.

I finally brought a portable radio/cd player into the kitchen and have been listening to BOCDs when I'm cooking/doing the dishes. So far, it's been the Princess Diaries. (I'm hoping to get through the whole set before the new one/last in the series comes out in January.) I do find that I do better with BOCDs when they're funny; they hold my attention more firmly.
