Quotable Sunday

"I wasn't screaming in anger or rage or at the thought of an impending loss. I had learned that screaming thickens up the vocal cords. Already this had given me back something of a voice. So, I took every opportunity to be alone, to scream, or sing or tell myself stories as loudly as I could."

A wonderful quote.I hope there is another that says it is also good to do those things with a good buddy too :-)

It's a really lovely book, in the end. A hopeful kind of story.

Do you remember this interview? http://blaine.org/sevenimpossiblethings/?p=1328. That page he previewed from Stitches hit close to home for me. I'm interested to read it. And that is a fabulous quote.

The Stitches page at his site is pretty great, too. I just looked it up.

This made me think of how in Marine Corps boot camp, if a drill instructor had too high of a voice, they made him yell until his vocal chords were destroyed and he sounded like an alien.

Jules, I had to go back and read it because I couldn't remember if he'd said anything about it then, probably because all I could remember was how much I loved his house/studio.

Chuck, Wow.
