So Maybe Sometimes I Blare Flo Rida's "Right Round" in My Car, or Pop Culture I Have Lately Been Consuming
Lost
I officially caught up with Lost in March, I think, and then I was watching episodes week-to-week, like a normal person. (Well, normal-ish, as I was watching them on the Internet. In some circles, that's normal. In some, it's weird.) I enjoyed quite a bit of this last season, except for the finale, which, when it wasn't obvious, was kind of stupid. Well, aside from the fact that Jacob turned out to be cuter than I imagined him. Of course, the writers found a way to ruin even that bright spot for me. Jerks.
30 Rock
Catching up with Lost left a bit of a void in my life, a void I filled with seasons one and two of 30 Rock. My only complaint about this show is that NBC is only putting the last five or so episodes on their website, which means that I cannot watch the third season from beginning to end the way I want to. I can't even find a release date for the DVDs. Sigh.
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
I read a bestselling adult fiction book! And, okay, it hasn't been on the bestseller list for a while, but it was at one time. I picked it up because Stephen King mentioned it in a column in Entertainment Weekly. He was actually suggesting that people read Picoult's new book, but whatever. I liked the sound of the other one. All 400-some pages were compulsively readable, in spite of it being difficult material (about a girl suing her parents for medical emancipation so she doesn't have to donate a kidney to her dying sister). They're making the book into a movie, but the trailer has that Hallmark Hall of Fame glow, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to take a pass on it.
Book mentioned:
Picoult, Jodi. My Sister's Keeper. NY: Atria, 2004. (HC: 9780743454520, Movie Tie-In PB: 9781439157268)

We are soooo on the same wavelength.
I thought most of the LOST finale was contrived, although I did love Sawyer/Kate/Juliet.
I, too, await the third season of 30 Rock. Please, please, put it on Instant Watch at Netflix for those of us who watched 1 and 2 and somehow failed to jump on the wagon right away for 3. We are dying, dying I tell you!
And how funny. I rarely read BAF (bestselling adult fiction,) but this is one book that I have. I truly liked it, but where the whole BAF falls apart for me is that one book by an author is enough. I'm a terrible fan base.

A kidney?!?I don't think anyone should have the right to tell you to give up a kidney!I'd have to yell through 400 pages!

Sara, I really enjoyed Picoult's book, but it didn't leave me wanting to read another, either.
And Sawyer and Juliet were just so cute.
Momster, Yeah.

I have thought all this time that Jacob was Jack's father, so not only do I hardly enjoy it anymore, but I evidently don't understand it.
Of course, I say this, but something---I dunno what---still gets me to tune in every week. It must be something beyond 'how the hey are the writers gonna tie this all up?', but ...um, maybe not. Maybe that's all I'm waiting to see.
That *was* some good acting from Sawyer, though, and when he called the poor scientist dude "Twitchy," I laughed out loud. Best nickname ever.
I still need to see Season 2 of '30 Rock.'

P.S. Speaking of pop culture, our weekend thus far has been consumed with it. We saw "Madagascar 2" in the park last night (having seen the first one this week in preparation for it), so the girls like to sing "I LIKE TO MOVE IT, MOVE IT" reeeeally super staggeringly loud.

Jules, I don't think they *can* tie up everything on Lost in that last season, but I know I'll be watching it anyway.
Ah, kids' movies. Such a mixed bag. I haven't seen any of those Madagascar movies, except for a little short film about the penguins that I thought was pretty darned funny.

My Sister's Keeper sounds like my kind of book, I'll have to get it from the library and read it "before " I see the movie...........thanks for reminding me about it.

Well, the sick daughter has leukemia, so that part's pretty upsetting, I have to say.

Evidently, Adrienne, the penguins have their own t.v. show now on that thingy called cable, which we don't get. I've heard it's a funny show, though.

Sometimes the things I miss not having cable make me feel like the freaky kid on the block, although Entertainment Weekly usually alerts me to stuff I need to know. Their coverage of kids' stuff is really sadly lacking, though.

I liked much of My Sister's Keeper when I read it, but I wish that a certain climatic event had happened with some TIME having passed - I'm trying to be vague so I don't spoil those who have yet to read the book - Seriously, changing _one simple sentence_ would have given it time and made me happier.

Little Willow, I agree with you completely. It seemed almost like a mistake.
