My Sympathies Were Always with the Bears Anyway
Is it just me, or has Goldilocks gotten kind of creepy?
and
They're like the portraits in horror movies that never stop looking at you (or in Scooby-Doo the portraits that are really just tools the bad guys use to keep an eye on you while you wander around the castle/mansion/hotel looking for a snack).

I always thought it was creepy the way Goldy first walked right into the house, took food and took a nap!Shades of Robert Downey Jr!Only he's cute. And I don't believe he stole food. And the whole thing was an accident. That Goldy babe is plenty creepy.

These new Goldies are definitely creepy. Kind of like those puppets that come to life at night and try to strangle you.
Since the original Goldilocks was supposedly an old hag, I don't feel guilty at all about siding with the bears. The first one up there looks bratty, doesn't she?

Momster, Good point. That Goldie really is up to no good, so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that she looks a bit sassy.
Jama, Oh, totally, and I do think it's intentional.

Adrienne. Seriously. You crack me up.

I haven't seen that first one, but I'm not so sure I want to.
Jama, you almost made me spit take my coffee with the night-time puppets comments (from laughing and also out of fear). SPIT TAKE!

Liz, Excellent. This is one of my goals.
Jules, Jama should totally write that screenplay.

Hey, know what? A friend of mine just asked me to recommend some holiday titles, and I came here to find your library post about holiday books to send to her. And then I went to look at my own archives. And anyway, so I discovered this old post: http://blaine.org/sevenimpossiblethings/?p=1062. See down there just above THE GRINCH? A Goldilocks re-telling on an Arctic landscape, a book I FORGOT ALL ABOUT.
And then that made me think of this post again, so hence my comment.
:)

At first I didn't think they were creepy looking, but then you said they look creepy and now I think they look creepy. Thanks A.

Jules, I am glad it's not just me who has to search my own archives periodically and find myself surprised by something I've found that I'd forgotten about entirely. You know, I know we own that book at the library, but I don't think I've ever read it. Now I must.
Jeffrey, Goldilocks wants to EAT YOUR BRAINS.

Oh nice. Now I'm going to dream about a Goldilocks zombie eating not only my brains, but my porridge too. No one likes you.

It's all according to my plan.
